Will the bolt handle even lift up if your bolt handle will move the bolt is not stuck the cartridge is try to get a brass rod or an old cleaning rod as it may damage the tip slide it in the barrel and gently just toss it to the bottom with slight rearward pressure on the boat handle and try thatBolt stuck closed today, can’t open. 25-06 factory extractor, ejector removed.
Pretty sure not a overcharge but seems like extractor is messed up somehow.
Please offer some ideas before I get hammering on the bolt handle.
Thanks!
That is true with the old style Walker trigger the newer trigger the bolt can be worked with it on safetySome 700s have a safety that will lock the bolt when the safety is on.
Not completely true. There were a TON of Remington triggers that could be considered a brainchild of Mike and Jim's. Only SOME of those have the bolt retention lever on the right side. That is true with the old style Walker trigger the newer trigger the bolt can be worked with it on safety
Indeed. Bar stock, drill rod, or even a pin gauge (if you really wanted a tight fit) can very easily be made to fit that position, at compressed length. This is why you shouldnt shoot without an ejector in place
I was talking specifically of the original triggers which you may still be correct I just know what little I know from reading of the lawsuit of the original Walker design and my wife personally had a Remington moment with their new trigger and the safety was on when she lifted the bolt handle to unload the rifle it shot a hole through my shop wall We were all super scared but luckily no one was hurtNot completely true. Hey 1911, we get that bolt open?
That's great news. Being able to avoid hammering is always good. It really sounds to me that the case was stuck to the chamber walls. You may find some foreign matter embedded in the brass cartridge. Also, Have a good look at that chamber. Maybe oily chamber.
I didn’t go into specifics a whole lot originally but I will tell you I’ve been married to this woman for 30 years I am a safety nut I worry about her a great deal she has learned extremely well and I trust her with a firearm in any situation she was in the room next to me when I heard the rifle go off instantly I thought what am I going to find when I go next-door when everything was OK she was startled white as a sheet and showed me the rifle and it was still on safety we both cried for several minutes I guess just from imagining what could’ve happened And being relieved that it was just my imaginationThat gives me the "willys" just reading it!
