A marvelous rifle in a great caliber that was the favorite of BR shooters prior to the introduction of the 6mmPPC.
I own one in Remington 40X and it is not for sale. Love the rifle....great for ground squirrels and PDs, and many coyotes have been taken with this caliber. The case is only slightly smaller than a .223, and the accuracy is specactular. Low recoil, easy to reload, accurate.......

Goofy- i only shot 40-50 rounds out of this one. very accurate. very very good condition. i had a hard time deciding, but i have three .222s. and do not have time to shoot this one. i am looking to get a sako 6ppc repeater.

Why dont you rechamber to .223AI so you have alittle more horsepower. Or you could get a ptg bolt and rebarrel to your desired caliber.

I'm amazed at what the bid is for it, no one wants a 222 anymore. I have the same rifle in .25-06 from around 1978. The wood is beautiful on mine and I imagine on yours too.

It amazes me also. The .222 is more accurate than the .223 and has nearly the same range. For all practical purposes, it will do the same job as the .223.....at least this has been my experience. The only reason it has declined in popularity is because of the semi-auto capabilities of the .223. Other than that, I would choose a .222 over a .223 in a country second.

A few years ago I was looking for a rifle in .222, you can't find them. I ended up with a nice Savage in .223 and I was happy with it. But I don't believe the .223 is much better then a .222 and is probably less accurate.

some years ago i had one of these and the rifle was great, after many rounds, i had the bbl set back 3/4" recrownd and chambered for 221fb,

very little velocity loss, less powder super accurate on pd to 300, and a new life for the rifle 40gr bltzking and wow the effect

still looked good
