Whats a 95% condition Remington 700 action worth from the 70's. 6 digit serial number i think?? 308 bolt face. actually its a hole rifle, bdl but i am just interested in the action. what would be a good price to pay? I can buy this rifle for 350 bucks + shipping=15 bucks. Action is blued with a jeweled bolt. looks good. Surly this is a good price?? Lee

Are the older actions usually better built?? I have noticed that the triggers are usually better, but as far a how close the machining is, i wouldnt have any idea. I bought this rifle for 365 shipped. Now what in the world do i build next?? I am wanting a ppc, but i thought i better do that on a custom action. I may do a 20BR, 6x47L, 22-250Ai, or a 260rem. I dont need any of them, but i hate to waste the like new Shehane st-1000 stock I have. I is bedded for a rem 700 short action and the stock work was done by Bob Green, so it is nicely done!! I will come up with something I'm sure. thanks fellas! Lee
