REMINGTON 700 ACTION

OK, I DONT MEAN TO SOUND SILLY HERE BUT I'M KINDA NEW TO THIS STUFF.MY QUESTION IS CAN I PURCHASE A TRIGGER GUARD/SOLID FLOOR PLATE TO CONVERT A HINGED FLOOR PLATE,BDL) INTO A NO WORKING FLOOR PLATE,ADL)?? IF SO, CAN YOU LEAD ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION THANK YOU

If you have an ADL stock you can install an ADL trigger guard, magazine box, follower and spring which would give you a blind magazine, in lieu of the BDL hinged floor plate.

you could replace that cheesy Remington BDL floor plate with a Quality unit from Williams. I happen to have a brand new steel floor plate from Williams never used if your interested.

Why not use the existing box and floorplate and use it as a storage box. You could glue in a single shot follower into the reciever and use it as sort of a dry box for small item, primers, sabots, etc. Just a thought

I have a Rem M700 muzzleloader and hate the cheesey plastic stock.
I've wanted to swap with BDL stock and use the magazine for storage
as mentioned.

Anyone know what the equivalent action length is for the 700 muzleloader is?

I'd like to re barrel mine in .45 since I've let the factory .50
SS barrel get a little hazy pitting using Pyrodex before the newer, less corrosive, clean powders came out. Fortunately the pitting is at the breach where the powder sits.

Hard to justify that expense since the last time at the range it shot a 3 shot, 100yd group right at an inch with the first two touching and in the bull. Stock upgrade will come first.

Saboted 240gr .44cal Hornady XTP, 85gr Triple Seven powder.

Recovered one from a mature doe shot quartering away into the off shoulder from maybe 40 yds. A little further back than I'd want so it went through a lot of deer. Perfect expansion, with what looks like good weight retention but haven't weighed it.
Thanks,
Dave
