i might have an original remington stock

Found the stock in the backroom. It is NOT a 600. Bad memory. Wonder what else I dont have that I think I have? Wonder what I do have that I dont know I have?

One of the cutest little rifles I ever saw was a 600 Remington 6mm with a short heavy barrel smithed by Jarrett. He simply opened up the barrel channel in a factory stock. But it was only used for deer hunting.

I have a great stock man that did the work. He also pillar and skim bedded it and refinished the action and made a custom bolt release. The trigger was the hardest part to get right and I eventually had to get a Timney benchrest with an adjustable shoe to move it back. The standard 600 trigger was too far out. This was a lot of work but it came out nice in the end.

It shoots pretty good too. This is 5 shot groups at 100 yds with .204 bullets.

I have an extra 600 stock, came off Ebay. Pillared and skim bedded. I'm away from home for a week though.
