Remington 600 Action

I have access to a Remington 600 in .308. The outside of the rifle is in excellent condtion. The barrel has some corrosion-like spots here and there inside it. I am considering using this rifle as a donor rifle to build up a 6mm BR or something. Is this a good action for my project? Who makes stocks that will fit the Remington 600 action?

Thanks,

Cort

Drop the 600 action into a Model Seven stock with a couple alterations depending on;
ADL or BDL style floor plate preference
Seven trigger group w/ safety & release
Bolt Handle

McMillan and HS Precision, along with several others, make stocks for the 600.
The rear tang of the 600/XP actions look weird in the M7 stocks, as the M7 has the 700 style tang.
