I have a Remington 22 LR mod 521T. It has a receiver sight on it and is pretty much original except for stock finish. The original finish looked like maroon paint and was worn through and had what I believe was lots of rosin on the pistol grip and on the forend. I would like to be able to shot this gun, but it needs a scope before I can shoot it like I want to. Does anyone cut the grooves in the receiver like the factory does? Would the Remington custom shop do it? My friends think it is too rare and valuable to molest, what do you think?
