Remington 40X Trigger

A friend recently bought a Remington 40X repeater in 22-250. The trigger is set way too light for him and the bolt sometimes does not cock. He asked me to look at it. The trigger has no bolt release and has three screws visible through the trigger guard. One is in front of the trigger and two are behind the trigger. It does not look like any trigger I have seen on a 40X, either factory or replacement. Any of you folks have any idea what it is? Unfortunately I did not have a chance to take a pic of it. Thanks for your help!

Both my 40X triggers have a vertical screw in front of the trigger that is accessible with the stock on. Here is a diagram. Yours sounds like a Walker trigger.

Thanks for the reply. The one you show is the one I am familiar with. However, his has 2 screws directly behind the trigger, in the same position (vertical) as the front trigger and all three are visible with the action inside the stock. It's definitely not the Walker trigger.
