My daughter has a 40x in 6br that she loves but we want to make it to accept AI style magazines. Has anyone done this process and if so could you guide me in the right direction for who I could send it to

Just get a 700 action, same as a 40X except the inscription. Will be much cheaper and probably work better.

Have done it. Easy. Get the bottom metal for the AI mags, a little inletting, done.
Can we assume that it is a repeater already and not a single shot action?

No it is a single shot but it sounds like it would be a better idea to just get her a different action
I agree. No reason to machine on a very nice single shot 40X. A highly desirable action to 40X fans for sure. Some times you can find a great deal on just an action body, and just use your bolt and other parts and pieces. Did this myself for just 200.00. Worked out great for me. Just a thought.

Mine was a 40X C, repeater. Definitely would not convert a single shot
I am sure you can find multiple buyers for the action if solid bottom here on gun broker if you want sell it or trade it.
