FOR SALE:
I have for sale what some may consider one of the Holy Grails of the Remington 40-X 22 Rimfires.
I'm selling this as a barreled action, as I never acquired the original XR stock when I purchased it.
This has a barrel code of DD, which makes it's manufacturing date in September of 1983.
This is a single shot model.
Serial number is 055XXX R
Research shows that this originally was a XR position rifle.
It has a 24" "Varmint" barrel, with a .870 muzzle diameter.
High gloss bluing reminiscent of that era, that I'd say is 98% +.
It currently has a full length picatinny rail on it, which I haven't taken off yet, & is not for sale.
Original factory 40-X trigger.
I bought this back in the 80's, and I believe I'm only the second owner.
Value is tough, as no one seems to have seen one for sale for comparison.
$1995.00 shipped to your FFL, who must accept from a private individual, no exceptions, & no trades.
