Remember 9/11

Maybe we could pause some of the petty bickering here tomorrow and remember the folks that died this horrific day, and the folks that died avenging their deaths. God Bless our country, our Constitution and for all that serve on this day. Please don't get political or post conspiracy theories or I will take this down. Just want to remind folks to remember 9/11, that's all. If we can't come together on this , we are doomed.

God bless all of the families that were/are affected by 9/11. Our country needs to find resolve like we had back then.

I took this picture at Camp Eggers in Kabul Afghanistan on 9/11/11. Ten year anniversary. All the NATO partners (32) pulled their flags down and raised OURS. A multi-national show of love and sadness for the pain inflicted on our country. The Americans were speechless, crying, and humbled as all the other nations soldiers hugged us and sang proud to be an American and our national anthem. Every year I weep as I look at this image, especially today.

We should never forget the cowards who destroyed so many lives for a caliphate based on lies. We have lost too many men and women in 3 different countries it makes me ill. Praise and shake hands with every single current of retired serviceman. They are the reason we can do anything in a free country. Help them if they need it . Just show love for such brave people we love and cherish. Prayers for the families of all the dead and wounded on that nightmare of a day.

Silence....

For prayer for those that gave all, and all those still giving!!!

I had a flight home to okc from cleveland that day. Drove the rental car as no planes that day. Construction halted interstate traffic for about half an hour somewhere western Ohio. All the drivers got out and spoke to one another like friends and neighbors. Saw a large passenger aircraft with escort but not on news reported AF1 flight path.
There is no place like home.
Never Forget the Heroes or the victims.
We are all part of their families.

I will never forget, the image of those people jumping to their death, jump or burn, what a horrible choice for a human to have to make. Whats even more horrible, is that some people in this country call the animals and the religion they are driven by, peaceful, and want us to accept them with open arms.

9/11 is burned into my memory like Pearl Harbor was burned into my parents, I will pray for the victims and families, but mostly for our country as a whole.

There has never been a single act in my lifetime, that will bring tears of rage and sorrow like the memories of that day. May the good Lord place his healing hands on all that were affected that horrible day.

I was at the Highlands Inn in Carmel on an early morning phone call with the GC of MIPS negotiating a large license deal. When the second plane hit, it was obvious that the plane crashes were the result of terrorist activities. We cut the call short and I drove back to Silicon Valley. I remember being so sad but yet so proud when I saw dozens of fellow Americans flying flags alongside and over the freeway, particularly near Sand City.

Despite the current pressure to minimize that event, Americans should never forget.

God bless those still suffering from that tragedy.

“Never Forget” now needs to include “Remember to teach”

My wife is a High school history teacher, on the morning the planes struck, she was calming fears, holding hands, wiping tears. On the first anniversary, it was reliving the moment and emotions. There was always school assembly to mark the day.

As days and years past, old students showed up in uniform. Some quit school within days, others 5 or more years later. There are at least two teachers now that joined, served their time and returned. Of course there were also the notices of past students deaths. Smallville America is like that.

A few years ago the big assemblies stopped, none of the kids were old enough to remember how that day felt to them. Those in class now, were not even born. One child in class this year has a father who enlisted June ‘02 right out of school.

We are already one generation removed, those in college today have no personal attachment to the unity of Americans in times of trouble.

What is seared into our memories, is ancient history already at the speed of digital news.

Our responsibility goes well beyond “Never forget”, it now has to include “Teach our children”

Proud to be an American.

I recall looking West from my work window and seeing the towers in flame and collapsing
I recall unity the day after, and now what has happened to this country?

This always makes me feel better.

Also remember the heroes who went into the burning towers to try and save lives. Are being defunded by some of our cities.
