REM XR 100 Action

Website says this is based or " is " the XP 100 pitol action. Is this action the same as a 700 series, just minus the cut for a magazine feed? If so, this should be a great action for a single shot rifle. Just asking, as I don't know !

One advantage of the XR action vs XP is you get a decent rifle bolt handle on the XR versus the offset pistol style bolt on the XP that most elect to modify. Both are solid bottom rigid single shots and either will make a fine action. One disadvantage is stock avaialbility vs a 700SA or 40x size action.

Doesen't the XR and the Rem M-7 the same footprint?. It seems that i was once told that the M-7 was the same thing as the XP only cut out for the magazine?

Seeings how alot of xp-100 pistols are taken apart to build single shot rifles. Remington built this Xr-100 rifle. So since Remington sells 700 actions seperatly, why don't they sell the XR-100 actions seperatly from the rifle so you don't have to tear apart a rifle or pistol. Do they even sell 40x actions seperatly from a rifle? Seems like there is a niche in the market for such a thing. Savage did it this year. Stiller makes a XP-100 clone too, I like his because it has the side bolt release.

The original XP actions are not Rem 7's, they are the Mdl 600, and do not fit in a 7 stock. Also the rear action screw goes from the top down and is not threaded in the action, stock has a nut in it to receive rear action bolt.

Actually, it's the other way around... The XP-100 came out, then the 600, then the 7, then the XR-100. Same action, minor doodles.
