rem vs savage footprints

does anyone have a picture of a savage and Remington sitting next to each other?
what i am trying to do is see how much work it will be to re purpose a Remington stock for a savage. i have one Remington 700 but it is a micro action and not much help.

so how different are they
in screw spacing
action inletting
actual receiver diameter
overall length etc.
is this a fools errand or something that could be done with a minimum of pain and suffering

With so many fine after-market Savage stocks available, I think making a Rem stock work would be a waste of time. JMHO.

more in the category of good information to know. gunshows have racks of used stocks that i hate to see waste away. i guess i really dont care about the time involved as sweat equity is almost always a good way to get nice things.

I have converted a rem to savage. NEVER AGAIN!!! It's doable but your best bet is to completely fill everything in with epoxy and start over. And the you still have kind of a frankenstien job. The one I did shoots well, but was way too much work.
