Rem Stock question

I don't know if this is the right forum but does anyone know who makes the new Remington factory varmit stock - has a black pebbly finish and aluminum pillars like the HS Precision and the B&C Medalist series - from the forend back looks like them too - but the forend itself is very angular with a sharp forward leaning lines and is very flat on the bottom. I am reshaping one and shortening it a little to make a youngster's rifle. Would like to send it to HSP or B&C for a repaint - btw, HSP is less expensive for their repaint than B&C, even though B&C will paint any stock.

Yep that's it - I've shaved the forend down and reduced the angle to make it a decent stock for a young shooter - after I paint it, I'll post the pic. This was a take-off for me and I almost gave it away. BTW, this came with the 'sticky' recoil pad that something had spilled on it and 'melted' it.

the pad gets sticky on its own. something to do with bad rubber. I've heard rumor that Remington will replace them but don't know if they would on yours since it has already been modified. you could try calling b&c they may have a pad ready to screw on they may send you. I've got three of these stocks and two of them have the bad pad on them but I just use them anyway. I haven't bothered with replacing them. when they get bad enough ill probably go to something that will give me a little shorter l.o.p. besides I don't need a thick pad for 223s

I just put a thin Pachmayr rifle pad and that reduced the LOP about 3/4 of inch which will be good for small framed shooters. As a side, have you ever painted stocks yourself?

Talk to a car painter and ask if he uses a spatter gun to get that finish.I cant duplicate it with a standard spray gun unless they just dont thin the paint as much to get it to spatter than spray.

I have a couple LVSF's, sticky pads and all; love the overall style/shape of these stocks for all-around varmint/predator rifles.
fwiw: B&C no longer offers stock painting, at least in the "Creative Effects" line.

I called B&C and asked if they still do repainting - they said yes if it is their standard hunting (drab) type colors, including spiderwebbing. They will repaint all fiberglass stocks including other manufacturer brands. Cost is steep at $105 each.
