I purchased my Nephew a brand new in the box Rem 870 20 gauge youth shotgun for christmas. Bought it back in March of 2017 after tax time and stuck it in the safe in the box. Never opened it to even look at it. Well, he opened it on Christmas and the forend has a crack in the wood stock. Bad enough that it will eventuall split all the way off. Gun is still never been fired. What to do? Is this something remington would warranty? I do have the original reciet.

I'd hope Remington would make it right. - Contact them ASAP and explain your situation.
I called them and to my surprise they were open. I gave him the serial number and it was well within warranty. He said they would have me a new one mailed out today. That's awesome service!!!
