Rem. 798 Mauser Stock

On the low end, Wood Plus, Boyds and Richards Microfit make wood stocks for 98 Commercial Mauser actions. Stockey Stocks usually has some for immediate delivery. Good guy to deal with too. High quality prefit stocks with aluminum chassis are available from Accurate Innovations in Rapid City, SD. Brownell's carries the Wood Plus stocks for around $100. I think Bell & Carlson makes tupperware stocks for Mausers.

Search this site on the Richards microfit stocks before ordering one. They don't have a good reputation.

Your stock is a decent laminated wood stock. Pillar blocks and glass bedding will make it about as good as anything except the Accurate Innovations stock. If you pillar block and bed the factory stock, the factory barrel will probably be the limiting factor for accuracy.

I have seen these rifles, and I believe that they are underrated.
