Rem 783 FP Spring

timeout

Silver $$ Contributor
I'm wanting to purchase a new firing pin spring for a 783 Remington. Am I correct in thinking that this was a Marlin firearms patent? If that is correct, I believe that Ruger got the rights for Marlin firearms products during Remington's bankruptcy. If so, I will check with Ruger to see if I can purchase one. Any other recommendations are greatly appreciated!

Ruger only took the Marlin lever guns from Remington. I did get some spares from the Rem agent here (NZ). I suggest that you get an extractor too, in case you lose it messing about - they can be quite lively.

It may be worth contacting PTG, as they do bolts for the 783.

I can imagine that Marlin/Remington sourced the spring from a 3rd party. May be worth talking to someone in the spring industry, otherwise measure it up and find another FP spring that the same length/diameter/wire gauge.
Best of luck.
