rem 722 extractor

I have a new extractor coming for my 722 300sav. Does the extractor simply snap in place or is there something else needing to be done.

Been awhile since a 722 came through the shop, but it's rivited in. All early 700s were, and the 722 is pre 700. The "snap in" is a relatively 'new' thing and only in .223 and std. calibers, mags. are still rivited .

721's, 722's, and 725's were snap in extractors. Different than the current 700 snap in type, long out of production and unavailable. Maybe some late ones were riveted like the early 700's.

OP where did you locate a new one??
