Rem 700 trigger change

I do not own this rifle, but a friend of mine does.
Yesterday, he asked me if a Timney should mean an improvement, or else, it is not the pity worth.
Now, I revert the question to the experts and would appreciate experienced opinions, with pro's and con's arguments.
Thank you to all of you for your collaboration.

I've got a Timney 510 in one of my rifles, and I really like it. It breaks cleanly at ~1.5 lbs. I think they make a fine field trigger.

I've installed Timney Calvin Elite Triggers on two Rem 700 rifles I own. They break very cleanly - a world of difference from the factory trigger. The pull weight is adjustable (I think from 8oz to 2.5oz). I believe I paid approx. $200 for each at the time. Yes, I do believe a quality trigger will improve your accuracy. I consider a trigger upgrade standard on any factory rifle. I now use a higher-end and much more expensive Bix N' Andy trigger on a custom rifle, but I wouldn't hesitate to use my Timney Calvin Elite again, if need be.

I like 2 Stage Trigger ....
I installed a Calvin in a 700 FT/R Rifle plus a firing Pin Spring up grade .
Not one thing Bad to say ... Oh $100 more for

I've never been too impressed with Timney's of any flavor. They always seem to have an odd feel. Jewell or the new Bix n Andy Tac Sport. If you don't need under 6-8 oz the Tac Sport has an unbelievable break. I've never felt a better trigger.

I run a Timney CE at 15 oz pull weight. Very nice clean break with no creep, pleased with the trigger. You can get them new for $170 at OTM Tactical. I've shot friends rifles with Jewel triggers and can't say I noticed any significant difference other than the feel of the shoe.

Forget debating the merits of Timney vs Jewell or some othe fancy target trigger. Heck yes a Timney is worth doing for a factory 700. With a standard Timney you can SAFELY get below 3lbs and still have the safety work properly. Probably the best and most cost effective upgrade that can be made on a factory 700. I also prefer a Calvin Elite to a standard Timney but no where near as much as I prefer a standard Timney to a factory Remington trigger.

I bought 2 of mine from them. Love the Calvin Elite. Never owned a Jewel so have no idea what I am missing. For a sporting trigger, I cannot imagine being able to substantially improve on the Calvin Elite feel and break.

A Jewel is a huge step up from a Calvin Elite and a Bix n Andy is again another step up. For a $65 upgrade you'll never look back or regret it! The BnA make the CE seem a lot closer to a factory Remington..

Wow, no mentions of a Trigger Tech? or are they just not well known south of the border (made in Canada)? Priced near the same point as the regular Timney trigger for the 700.
Very crisp, no friction, no over travel. I have a regular Timney installed on a Rem 700 in 204R That I still have to work on before I use it. ie stock and glass. But I have the Trigger Tech trigger installed on both of my 700 5R milspecs (223 & 308) and I really like how they work. I must also admit I have not tried the Calvin elite or the BIx'n'Andy trigger either too.

They make a very nice AR trigger and I've used those in a number of builds. I have yet to try one of the 700 triggers, though. What the adjustment range for weight of pull on yours?
