Rem 700 trigger and Extractor ??????

Is there anyway to make a factory trigger lighter without going to a different trigger altogether?

Also, what is a cheaper upgrade to the rem extractor. The 6br cases does not even leave the action. oh what to do, what to do.

"the 6BR does not even leave the action" Do you mean ejector instead of extractor?

There is a ton of info, available on this and other forums, concerning Remington trigger adjustment procedure.

Josh, I've played with various factory 700 triggers, and sometimes was able to get a clean & safe break at 2lbs. - the thing that bugged me about it is that, often as not, they weren't consistent at that weight. This is just dinking with the adjustment screws on the housing, not taking them apart and stoning the engagement surfaces and/or swapping out springs.

I've always just coughed up the $$$ for a Jewell HVR before going to that level. Somehow, I feel a whole lot of us modern shooters have gotten spoiled in this regard - not that many years ago, our choices weren't so broad, and real gunsmiths who knew their stuff could & would work on the inards of a trigger to get it right. However, it's not all our fault - hungry lawyers stand ready to sue at the drop of a hat - not to mention a factory trigger that's been tuned.

Seems like most of the time, a little filing, grinding or milling on the back edge of the retaining pin notch on a 700 ejector will let it protrude a little farther forward from the bolt face, which usually fixes ejection problems with the BR. I did that on the ejector of a Pierce TG action in my Eliseo R5 tubegun in 6BR, and it now ejects 100% no matter how slow I run the bolt. I've even had to do the same thing with a 700 in 22-250, and another in 6.5x47Lapua.
