1968-1975.I have a rem 700 action with serial # 6826886. Any idea what year this is? Want to see if trigger was recalled.
Just installed a Timney. What a differenceI would still replace the trigger. There is a really big selection to choose from!!
Thanks Butch. The Lacy book puts it in about 1970.
It's a new bartein barrel. Don't have the original. Were you able to find the two letter stamp on the barrel?
I've got an older 700 ADL that was a .222 Rem, but it's been rebarreled to a 223 Wylde now, so I don't have the two letter stamp to confirm. Gunsmith that rebarreled it said it was a very good and tight action, said it wasn't even worth truing up. I bought it 20 years ago from a friend's grandpa when I was a sophomore in HS. So I know it's got to be at least in the 70s era.
Serial # is 6268076
What year does that roughly put it?

Will just mention that you should never show the full serial number on the internet and other places, criminals have a way to use it to obtain your firearm. Notice how other posters showed portions, but not the full serial number.I have a rem 700 action with serial # 6826886. Any idea what year this is? Want to see if trigger was recalled.
Than you, Good infoWill just mention that you should never show the full serial number on the internet and other places, criminals have a way to use it to obtain your firearm. Notice how other posters showed portions, but not the full serial number.
Well I have the rifle in my possession, if some DA criminal thinks he can get away with doing anything with my rifle, more power to him. But, I'm honestly not too worried about it...Will just mention that you should never show the full serial number on the internet and other places, criminals have a way to use it to obtain your firearm. Notice how other posters showed portions, but not the full serial number.
