I have a rem 700 action with serial # 682xxxx. Any idea what year this is? Want to see if trigger was recalled.

1968-1975.
Remington started off each year group of serial numbers after the 1968 law with 62xxxxx, A62xxx, B62xxx, C62xxx, D62xxx, E62xxx, F62xxx, G62xxx.

Your 68xxxxx would put it towards the end of the group year 68-75 production...probably 1974/1975 shortly before switching to the A62xxx serial numbers.

The two letter stamp on the barrel in front of the receiver will give you the exact month/year.

That trigger recall occurred when Remington Firearms was still in business. After the bankruptcy Remington Arms became the entity. Pretty sure Remington Arms will only support their products.

I've got an older 700 ADL that was a .222 Rem, but it's been rebarreled to a 223 Wylde now, so I don't have the two letter stamp to confirm. Gunsmith that rebarreled it said it was a very good and tight action, said it wasn't even worth truing up. I bought it 20 years ago from a friend's grandpa when I was a sophomore in HS. So I know it's got to be at least in the 70s era.

Serial # is 6268076

What year does that roughly put it?

Will just mention that you should never show the full serial number on the internet and other places, criminals have a way to use it to obtain your firearm. Notice how other posters showed portions, but not the full serial number.

Well I have the rifle in my possession, if some DA criminal thinks he can get away with doing anything with my rifle, more power to him. But, I'm honestly not too worried about it...
