Rem 700 Short action need to be re-barreled

My Rem 700 Sendaro SA (H&S stock) was a 22-250 . Now its a 6x284 chambered in a 26 " Hart Varmint contour bbl. Time to re-barrel. Want to reach out to 1,000 yds so I want to shoot the 107 gr bullets. Any bbl suggestions ? Thinking of a 28" Brux 8"twist #8 contour or their Remington contour . Is 28" to long ?

Why not a .260 rem or the ackley improved one. I love my .260 and you can reach out an touch em too. Another overlooked one is 7mm08. They run accurate with good bullets and brass. You could go with 6.5x284,the only draw back is extracting a loaded round which you would have to pull the bolt to get the round out.

I'm from just accross the bay in 377. Book 1123103. Let me know if you need some help re-barreling. Been doing accuracy work for several years.

Ken we know each other ! We both worked for Herrick on the Adobe building back in the mid 90s. You use to shoot up at Chabot. Hey are you still an Iron worker ? I pulled the pin a year ago( Retired) Now I live in gun friendly NV.
