Rem 700 PSS 308 -> 7WSM

I have a Rem 700 PSS in 308 I'm thinking about chambering into 7WSM. What would I need to make this happen besides forking up some $$?

I know I need a new barrel. ;D

What esle? Also, what is a ball park figure to get this done by a smith? This will be for long range work both target and hunting. Mostly target shooting though...

As you've mentioned-all it takes is money!!!

A .532" Magnum face bolt to replace the .473" face 308 bolt.
Open the existing OEM bolt face to .532" & install a pinned type extractor.
Feed rails need to be opened up.

Why not ream the 308 chamber to 300 RSAUM/300WSM & shoot the barrel out.

You'll need the mag well for the shortmags, as they are different too. If your going to make it a single shot you'll need the follower for the short mag, the 308 follower is too small to fit in the hogged out action.
I not much for telling guys how to spend their money but it maybe cheaper to buy a used short mag then to pay for the machine work and misc. parts needed to make it feed correctly. Which i can tell you from experience the rsaum's don't feed well anyways if more than 2 shells are put in the mag.
