I have a Rem 700 Police in .223 as well my brother has same both guns develope a cratering -up around where primer is struck,
With factory loads, and more so when reloading with Varget I am 1.5 grs under max with 75gr Hornady HPBT Match bullets, I am afraid to go any higher as for the primer to rupture. I measured as best I could and hole on bolt face is .078" diameter my Rem 700 in 30.06 is .065" and my Rem model 7 about the same. has anyone noticed this with the Rem 700
