Rem 700 Action, barrel size

for those who have Remington 700 actions, what is the largest barrel that you guys are comfortable with.
shooting 300wsm, it would be nice to take off the varmint contour Krieger and go with a dedicated 1000yard blank. this way i could have one gun. I wouldn't be switching constantly by any means, but it is fun to shoot coys at a distance.

If your looking for barrel diameter, a straight 1.250 will work just fine on a 700 action, with a good .250 wide tapered recoil lug.
Length is good at 30".......
If your looking for contour, a #4 is about as light a barrel as I would use on a 300WSM..

Thanks for the response. my Krieger is 1.25 and tapers to .830, I am not sure the exact contour, but it is a nice barrel. it seems this will be perfect for my hunting rig, as far as target, we will see.
