Rem 700 22.250 headspace problem

CatShooter .......

???
A Full Length (FL) die would have done the job for you without any problems. Most benchrest shooters now use FL dies, and most benchrest chambers are very tight at the neck.
(Benchrest handloads require neck turning.)

Done what job???

The FL dies that benchrest shooters use have absolutely no relationship to the FL dies that come in OTC boxes.

That you have neck sized all these years is a report on the pressure level of your loads. I have a simple engineering principle that I stick to for most situation. If it works, and is safe, then it is just fine. ;D

Pressures were in the 50Kpsia range (I have pressure reading equipment).

CatShooter .....

I misread your post. It looked like you said you had no way to resize your cases to fit your chamber with a NK die. (I now see that your FL die solved the problem.)

I don't own any NK sizing Dies, because when a good FL die height is set accurately for a particular chamber, for all practical purposes - it's as good as any benchrest die. (I use Redding S-Type FL dies.)

I have two Redding S-FL dies, and I have not been too impressed with them.

Unless the reamer was designed for for brass from a particular FL die, I have never seen a factory die that would reduce body diameters as little as a custom benchrest die. On the other hand, refer to the engineering principle in my previous post.

I guess this is what makes handloading so interesting. What works for me may not work as well for others, I am just relating my experience over the years. I own one match rifle and a bunch of factory rifles. YMMV Barlow
