REM 7 1/2 OR 6 1/2 PRIMERS

Forgive my Ignorance, but what is the difference between Remington's 6 1/2 & 7 1/2 primers? it appears 7 1/2 is most popular. but I have a few boxes of 6 1/2. Both say small rifle neither say magnum, standard or benchrest. Thanks

This question came up some time ago on another of the shooting sites I frequent - this one specializing in NRA Highpower shooting. Several guys cautioned the poster of the original question about whether to use 6-1/2s against it - they have a thinner, softer cup, and have a reputation for piercing with even moderate loads in cases with more capacity than the Hornet or Bee.

Mine all look just like gunamonth's do, and I use them not only in my 6br's but also in my Freedom Arms 454, they are pretty tough in that case.....

Thanks everyone for the info, this site is awesome with the experience & knowledge of the people that post here. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

All my favorite sources for Rem primers are dry. Does anyone know of a source for case quantities of 7.5's and 2.5's The supplies can't quote me an anticipated resupply date either.
thanks in advance,
-lige
