Reloder #7 in .30 BR?

I am fairly new to the .30 BR and have been seeking the best loads for it. I have it chambered in a BAT w/ an 18 inch twist Hawk Hill barrel that is 24 inches long. I have tried H4198, 4197, N130, and LT-32 in it with the 4198 and the n130 performing best. A friend said that he had quite a bit of old Reloder 7 from back in the 70's (LOT number 7). He said that I could have it if it worked in my .30 BR. Do any of you have any experience using Re7 in the .30 BR? Thanks , James PS- This is Hercules Re 7, not Alliant.

Shoots good, almost as good as H4198 in my gun. DG

I would get in touch with Alliant and find out if there is a difference in burn rate between the two. If not you should be good to go with prudent load development. Heck they might even be able to suggest where to start. Never know unless you ask. dedogs
