Reloder 17?

I’ve done plenty of research but whats it best used for? I have plenty and might trade it or sell it off. I know I’ll get comments why buy it if you have no use. Let’s just say I had a good friend who said happy birthday lol.

I've used or tried it in 220 Swift, 6xc, 243, 6.5-06, and 6.5CM to varying degrees of success. While not the most accurate in every instance, it almost always demonstrated higher muzzle velocities. Just guessing the burn rate around or near 4350. JME. YMMV. WD

I reload 9, 45acp, 300blk, 556, 6.5creed, 308, 5.7, 300norma, 338 lapua

whats it beat used for?
Best will depend on several variables which only you can account for in your firearms. Our opinions are just that since it's doubtful you have what we shoot. So you'll get a bunch of opinions about which cartridge and bullet combinations shoot best for other people.

I use Re-16, Re-17, Re-25 and Re-26 the most for a broad selection of cartridges and bullets. Of your list of cartridges, .308 Win., 6.5 Creedmoor.

Here is a fairly complete list of cartridges and loads which Alliant supplies online:

Article using the 6.5 Creedmoor and 140 gr. bullets:

Yes I know you stated that you have 'done plenty of research' but it never hurts to post data such as this just in case someone else is interested. No, it's not an absolute complete list but somewhere to get started with your search.

Enjoy!
:)

RL-17 worked well in 260Rem w/123SMKs @600yds using same load of H-4350. Have heard it is temperature sensitive but have no personal experience temperature wise.

In 308s with heavy bullets it gives very good velocity, but it's not temp stable. Probably a great hunting bullet powder.

Was designed for short mags i believe 270 wsm 300 wsm etc seems to get good velocity in other rounds tho. Used it in 308 Win with heavies and Got good velocity but gun didnt group with those loads

At some point I had noted that it would be a good choice in my 6.5x55 rifles for hunting. I may not be far from you if you would like to FTF sell some.

Thank you, Peter.

It's the only power I've used in my 300 WSM hunting rifle... gives mucho velocity, as well as more than acceptable accuracy for my needs.;)

I used it in my 28" 6mm AR with heavier bullets, picking up 80 to 100 fps over any other powder with no indication of pressure problems. Unfortunately I have been unable to find it for the last 2 years.
