ReloadSwiss Powders

Short answer is no. But, there is a chit house rumor that RE-17 is RS60.

Could well be as I have heard that some Alliant powders are ReloadSwiss powders. QuickLoad lists a half grain difference between the 2 [Reloder17 and RS-60] for a Barnes 127 gr LRX bullet in a 6.5-06AI.

There are four Nitrochemie (Reload Swiss) grades available in the US all under the Alliant brand name, all 'high energy' (infused nitroglycerin into originally single-based nitrocellulose kernels) types and also all using Nitrochemie's patented unique 'EI' infused deterrents technology.

Re17 ................. OEM: EI-Niesen 145 ................... RS60

Re26 ................. Unknown ................................... No RS Canister equivalent in the UK.

Re33 ................ OEM: EI-Niesen 170 EA ................ RS80

Re50 ................ OEM: EI-Kolumbus 12.7mm .......... No RS equivalent I know of, but it was available in the UK under the name 'Elcho 50' for a couple of years.

That leaves six rifle grades available in Europe under the Reload Swiss brand name that don't have US equivalents, three single-based (RS30, 50, and 62) and three high-energy / EI (RS40, 52, 70).

RS30 is equivalent to Alliant 2400 and similar fast rifle powders; RS50 is very close to Viht N140, so much so that their loads data are usually interchangeable; RS62 is in the same bracket as IMR-4451 and 4350, H4350, Alliant Re16. A superb non-temperamental powder that provides good MVs.

RS40 is said to be the canister version of the bulk grade used in Swiss GP90 62gn 5.56 ammunition - high performer in 223 and in 308 with 155s. (Spectacularly so in the latter, but not consistent and a real barrel burner at top loads so after a brief spell of being 'in', few use it for this cartridge today. RS52 is very similar to H. VarGet and has the same applications - 6BR, 308 Win with a wide range of bullet weights etc. RS70 is a magnum powder equivalent to Re22 / Norma MRP.

Thanks for that info. I was interested in the RS-76 as it is supposed to offer about a 275 fps velocity increase over my current 6.5-06AI load of 59.3 grains of IMR7977 and the Barnes 127 grain LRX. The load shoots pretty good and I like the reduced copper fouling from the IMR7977. Both SR-76 and IMR7977 have the same temperature insensitivity and a copper fouling reduction additive.

Iknow this is an old thread.
Thought an update might be in order.
It looks like the yet to appear reloder ts11 is rs40
SeabeeKen,
No, TS11 is not a Swiss propellant. It is a Swedish material produced by Eurenco Bofors with their same TZ technology in a burnspeed range similar to N133 or thereabouts. It will be the fast end of our TS family, which currently contains AR-Comp, Reloder TS 15.5, Reloder 16 and Reloder 23.
It will be in distribution fairly soon. We have it and just need to get it out there.
Shoot well,
Paul

Any chance we'll ever see Unique or 2400 again?

Any rough timescale? I haven't seen any for literally years now. Luckily had a few in stock.
We have put both into distribution within the last few months. We packed and shipped a large lot of Unique and a good sized 2400. Given the pent-up demand for both, they didn't last long.
We will certainly make more as capacity constraints allow, so keep your head up and strike if you see it.
Good luck.

Scheels in Coralville had a good supply of Unique a couple of weeks ago when I was there browsing around.
Good to know it's back in the wild again, thanks for confirming, both of you. There's always some lag between things picking up in the US and our market seeing it. I'll keep my eyes open.
