Reloading room set up question

Has any one come up with a convenient powder storage techniques.. maybe a spinning rack or something to store bottles of powder in.
I had all my powders in a cabinet or a rubber made containers. Ive never found a way to store powder so its not taking up alot of precious real-estate at the bench. Or i dont have to empty the entire cabinet contents to find that 1# of powered im looking for.
What concoction have you guys came up with for this dilemma, if any.

I live in a very small house and space is always at a premium. For me, it's Bankers Boxes for 1-lb'ers, in a totally separate room from the loading bench. That allows stacking 6-7 high, so minimizing floor space.

In where the loading bench is I have an electric humidor where I keep a couple pounds each of several most-used powders, rotating in from the Bankers Boxes as they get consumed. That allows the powder actually used to become temp/humidity stable.

Lots of ways to skin the powder-storage cat!

Easy, stop buying 1 pounders

I second using banker boxes, they work well. Spend the few extra shekels for the heavy duty boxes, you can stack quite a bit of weight in them.

Guys no filling cabinets, no fire proof cabinet stuff...
I want to see what i have and what i need with out digging around in crap, im done with that..
Im talking reloading room storage..not im getting divorced storage..
I need pics..stuff like this..

There were a pile of 1x6 left over from another project. They make dandy shelves on the back wall of the closet near my bench. This also keeps powder off the bench's "real estate" except for the can in use. I have to physically stand up & walk to the closet when changing powder, so maybe being able to see the labels clearly adds another safety layer to preventing wrong powder mishaps.

There are mostly 8#ers these days but still a number of 1# cans of older or less used types. They fit with very little overhang as do most bullet boxes & 1000 boxes of primers (even those damned oversize Federal boxes).

I have it stored vertically on shelves in an armoire. Close the doors on the cabinet and it’s invisible to prying eyes…. Just another piece of furniture.

So how Many Bottles of 1 Pounders do you have to find easy storage for?
I would think the book case storage, possibly with some lower storage like doors on the front would work. Or a book case with doors on the front of the storage case if that's the type of shelving you are looking for?

I repurposed a wine rack from the misses. It couldl hold 52 one pounders of Hodgdon or 26 Alliant power. Just label the caps and you can pick what you need. It was free and compact.

Ive had this set up..yes eventually you memorize what bottle is what..but its still to cramped. Heaven forbid you pick up a 5lb jug..then what..time to rebuild the wntire set up haha

That’s an old pic. I had just finished the desk and was loading it with stuff. Before all the bottles got sticky labels on their lids. 8 pounders are in a cabinet in the shop.

Your picture made me immediately think I had way too much stuff. I feel better reading your second post knowing that you have more stuff squirreled away in the shop. You don’t get a sense of size of your desk until the photo of the bottom drawer that fits 36 one pounders!

There are 2 enormous duffle bags (large enough to fit fully loaded hiking pack or an average size person) stacked beside my cabinet. In case of a fire my wife knows to carefully fill the first bag with all the primers and then the second bag with the powder. My job is to retrieve the 100% O2 scuba tank from under the stairs.

My reloading room/office has been neglected for a month or two… I guess I know what I’m doing this weekend.

I typed out a list of "in stock", unopened bottles and tape it inside the door of the cabinet where i keep them. If I pull a bottle out, I note the new number on the list.

I keep opened bottles in a different cabinet, so as to never open a second bottle, not knowing one of them was already open. I can just glance down the lists and see what I have without having to dig around to see what I have.

There’s a closet in the room and its shelves are full. There’s a climate controlled room in the garage with cabinets full of ammo, powder and bullets. Then there is the other half of my supplies in my shop in Delaware! I don’t think a guy can have too much. With the shortages now and then and an unknown future, I like to maintain a lifetime supply.
