reloading equipment help need professional advice

I have a dillon balance scale, and measuring each load is time consuming I dont mind but it would be nicer to speed it up, any recommendations?
also I can never seem to get the carbon out of my cases and this takes up case capacity and makes me worry about the pressure, tumbling does not get it out what can I use???

what kind of set up are you guys using?
hand primers?
any advice is appreciated I am always looking to expand my knowledge and understanding of this sport...

Thank you..

Omaha,
I use a powder thrower and set it up to throw a charge just under my load. I throw the charge into a shot glass and then from the shot glass into the scale pan. I use a trickler to bring the charge up to weight.

You can charge your cases directly from the powder thrower once you've set it up but there will be more of a variation between charges so it is safer to weigh each individual charge.

I also use a digital scale as they are much faster than the balance beam type.

I've never worried too much about carbon in the cases.

I used to have a lee auto prime for priming my cases but I've found that my RCBS partner press is just as quick and has the sensitivity needed to seat primers. I've just bought a redding big boss press for heavy duty re-sizing and case forming.

The only real solid advice I can give is that you get what you pay for with reloading equipment.

Moo.

Hunt up a old RCBS 90 digital scale, they can be found for around $100.00 sometimes and are a really good scale.
Check out the ultra sonic cleaning site using Citronox on this forum and you'll never need to worry about carbon building up in your cases ever again... they'll be cleaner than new...

Carbon build up in a deer hunting case may not be of any importance, but you can be sure that's why all the BR shooters insist on clean cases inside and out...
All those wee tiny variables add up after a while.....
If a little bit of carbon is not a problem, how come when you get a build up of it in a chamber neck, you stop winning :D
