Reloading 204 and 22-250

Plan on doing some load development for my 204 ruger (cz Kevlar) and a savage 22-250.
I plan to use cfe 223 powder for both and 40g vmax for the 204 and 55g vmax for the 22-250.
On the 204 I plan on doing charges .2 charges from lowest charge of 27.1 -29.7 with 5 shot groups working my way up.
I really wanted to try some 39g sbk but none to be found. I want to stay on the higher end of the 20cal projectiles but I know lot of people have issues with the 40s and 1/12 barrels.
The 22-250 still trying to decide if I will do .5 increments or what.
Anyone have suggestions with cfe or have box or two of 39g sbk not going to use?lol
Primers will be federal match Hornady brass on the 204 and federal brass and primers on the 22-250

CFE223 has been THE powder for my .22-250 with a 26" barrel and 52-grain Hornady AMax (now ELDM) bullets. It is also a top powder with 55-grain VMax in my rifle, but not quite as good. My rifle is a 1-14" twist and doesn't really like anything much over 55-grain. With the 52-grain bullets, I found the sweet spot nearly a full grain under maximum. The longer barrel made up for that decrease for the most part and velocity is over 3,800 fps. .5 grain increments are fine until you get to about two grains under maximum, but then I would change to .2 grains as you get closer. CFE223 can show a spike as you get close.

What SSL said for the 22-250. I’ll add that when you find your node with the .5 jumps, load some with .2 grain jumps around that to fine tune it, then test some seating depth loads with the best charge. You can do that with 3 shot groups for testing, then verify with a couple 5 shot groups of the best.
