Relatives, but not siblings...

Was talking with a buddy who shoots 6gt and I'm building a 6x250, turns out they're much closer to each other in capacity and performance than either of us realized. Which made me think of other cases very similar, then I lined them up side by side.

6.5x47L, 6x250, 6 creedmoor, 6xc. (Didn't have a 6x47L case available)

No reason any one of these would shoot any worse or better than the other. Then we realized that availability of quality brass makes the biggest difference between these specific cartridges.

To me, its more like arguing about good whiskey. Its all good and pretty much the same thing, but a matter of what each of us prefer. Thinking how strongly some defend their own choice as the best, this pic reminds me that they are all the right choice, just pick your favorite flavor. They're all close cousins on the family tree.

Agreed! But I have two of those flavors and thinking about adding a third . . .

A small point - I think the XC appears before the Creedmoor in your photo.
You're probably right. Was going from memory on the line up.

The 6GT is shorter yet.
In between the 6X47 & 6BRA if i recall correctly.
6BR, 6BRA, 6X47 all used the 308 parent case.
Your 6-250 & the 6XL used the 250-3000 Savage as the parent.
The Creedmoor line uses the 30TC as a parent.

The 6.5×47mm Lapua has no direct parent case. It was designed by Lapua with a great deal of help from Swiss rifle manufacturer, Grünig & Elmiger.[4] The case also borrows many characteristics from the 6mm PPC[6] and has proven itself to be inherently accurate.[7]

All these responses are correct. My point was less about the parent case and more about internal volume. 6gt and 6x250 both run into compressed loads around 37gr of H4350 with a 105 class bullet. The 6x250 retains the parent case body taper and shoulder, which with the .466" @0.200" dim, even though is longer than the 6gt, give approximately the same internal case volume.

I have noticed that case volume tends to affect precision of the cartridge design, generally cases of similar volume will shoot equally well, and external dimension, i.e. case shape, will affect brass life, given the same bullet diameter.

These cartridges I listed all are close in case volume, and I see no reason for any one of them to be inherently more precise than the other. The only real differences are going to be brass life (trimming, case head separation, primer pocket, clickers, etc).
