Relaoding equipment list.

Here is a list of stuff that I assume are neccessities for reloading but was wondering if this list is correct. Is there anything on there a person doesn't need or something that's not on the list? Is the case gauge or concentricity needed?

Press
Bullet Comparator
Oal Gauge/modified case
Trimmer and accessories
Dies
Calipers
Concentricity gauge
Case Gauge

Ive already go the press ( Big Boss 2) and Case trimmer (Forster)

Thanks

Some of the stuff you have on the list is nice to have but not necessary.

You can get by without a concentricity guage, case gauge, OAL/modified case.

Things I would add to your your list is
1. ball micrometer to go with your calipers. Good for measuring brass neck thickness.
2.Scale
3. some sort of powder dispenser or trickler is nice to have (but not mandatory)
4 brass chamfer/ deburing tool.
5. primer pocket uniformer or cleaning tool.
6. something to clean the brass even if its just steel wool or scotchbrite pad.
7.Primer seating tool.
8.some type of bullet puller for when you screw up.
9.headspace gauge (get with bullet comparator)
10.case lube
11. loading block or tray

depending on what your shooting you may also need to turn necks. then you will need
1.a turning tool
2.ball micrometer
3.expander for specific caliber
4. lube
5.debur/chamfer
6.some type of brass holder.
7. I like to get the lock stud that allows me to chuck the brass in the drill and motorize the operation.

Not, unless you need to measure neck thickness for other reasons like deciding on a chamber or reamer dimension. So you can add bullet diameter, then case thickness, then clearance to determine the required chamber.

Hi FxTr,hi all

Fx,I've probably told you already, unless I'm mistaken and it was some other gent, don't forget a decapping die, whichever brand but Lees are good and cheap, try and get yourself a second press(to put the decapping die on for instance,or do some seating if you reload small calibers or pistol)the little one by Lee is around$40,and can't be avoided;get a kinetic hammer(bullet puller),forget about those collet stuff made by Forster,Hornady,RCBS,(meaning no harm to any of these makers)they just don't fill the bill, they're awfully expensive if you buy all the collets you need, and I can't see why you wouldn't.I've learned through experience, they will eventually maim your bullets and/or case necks, and they might even not be able to do the job;try a kinetic hammer once(the Lyman looks awesome);if you're into bullet comparator, you definitely need a headspace gauge(Hornady's is fine),but the Sinclair's seems quite close to it;you can definitely give a go at the Gem pro 250 scale,it's a very serious piece of electronics, the Lee perfect powder measure will kick many of much more expensive units' back no prob for just a handful of dollars....There are so many tools out there that you will need, and get, don't run,be patient and vigilant, you'll eventually come to them all;but in the end it's a lot of money.....But then again, you don't really regret the expense if it's good and helpful, and if you like it...Good luck to you,and mind you credit card!!!!
