Regrouped

Regrouped yesterday evening and this morning . got the two on the left yesterday evening and the one on the right this morning . The 222 doing it's thing , and does it well . Been a lot of rain earlier this week and then dry and breezy the last couple days , guess they had a lot of dried mud in their fur , when the bullets struck you could see a good puff of dust come off them . Edited to say , plump little boogers too , been eating well . Kenneth

Ok, I am dying of envy. I got word that I am moving, so I am packing packing packing. My stuff went into boxes last week and it is now pleasant out, sun shine, rained last night for first time in weeks and chucks are standing in the fields sticking out like nudists at church. I might have to stalk some with the 1911...

Hate to hear your moving , that's a chore I do not like . Now the 1911 sounds like a fun adventure .thought about caring my wheel gun a couple times , but usually packing two rifles and keeping up with ammo , binoculars , and range finder is enough , sometimes more than enough .
Thanks Stacy , got to love that 222 . Going to step sons for dinner , got to go . Thanks for the kind remarks , Kenneth

The 222 was my first pure varmint rifle after using the 243 as a dual purpose rifle (deer and varmints) for my first years in the hunting sport.

I never found the 222 lacking out to 200 yards or so. Extremely accurate even out of a sporter weight barrel. I used 50 grain Sierra Blitz bullets, IMR 4198, and Remington 7 1/2 primers. Groups were always under 1/2 moa. until the barrel began to wear out. Shot tons of ghogs with this combo. After close to 5,000 rounds through the barrel I rebarreled a 223 Rem. to gain a little more velocity and restore accuracy. Even so I don't believe you can go wrong with the 222 as long at you keep your shots under 250 yards.

Was shooting Speer 52 gr. hollow points over 4198 , grouped good and dispatched violently . Weekends are limited time as I work out of town , so I ordered a few different factory loads hoping for something to work . Hornady superpreformance 50gr v-max shot right at .75" three shot groups , so I bought a couple boxes of it to save on more hunting time . It didn't tear em up like the H.P. but it knocked the dust off em and they seem to be just as dead , lol . Kenneth
