Refresh My Gun-Shipping Memory

I know that when I purchase a gun or receiver, it has to be shipped to an FFL to make the transfer. Once that is done, if i need to ship a barrel and action to a gunsmith, can said gunsmith ship it directly back to me after the barrel work is done? ,BTW, if i knew one in houston, I'd drive it over).

Dude I work with just had some problems with shipping a Colt Sauer. He bought the gun from out of state the seller after cashing the check took it to a FFL to have it shipped. Insured it, then it's received locally and stock is busted in half!

After all the pictures and statements are taken UPS will NOT deal with my buddy as they cannot because only the shipper is entitled to make a complaint, receive any money etc. Sure UPS will listen to his story and are glad for any information he provides, but he has no leg to stand on.

Point is if it's YOUR guy, action, barrel you had better make the arrangements to have it picked up at wherever and shipped,insured) to yourself. That way it's all YOU.

Or send it USPS Registered and Insured. Don't send the stock unless you have to.

Pete is a young man that has been doing this for a lot of years. He has as nice equipment as any smith that I know and I do know a lot of them. Pete is very honest and all of his work is very clean.

You are correct as I was in his shop a little earlier. Seemed like a really stand up guy. Yea, I like his equipment to.. I'm almost 50, but I wonder he wants to adopt..???
