The .327 came from a loaded cartridge that was not fire formed. the .323 came from a fire formed case which has a neck thickness of .007. The .327 has a neck thickness of .009 and that is what the rest of my necks are turned to. I did check my die and the die number from Redding is 77524 which matches the catalog description as 30BR Remington. Could there be a different die as the cases for this are 6mm Norma BR. I did the math 308 +.009 +.009 = .326 - .002 = .324 bushing, so I should be right on.Where did the .327 loaded dimension come from? Where did the .323 fired dimension come from? Shouldn't loaded neck diameter be smaller than fired neck diameter? We cant figure out the answer to your problem without correct data.
Yea, these numbers here are skewed somehow when compared to my 30BR. Need to re-check these for sure.
308 +.007 +.007 = .322 - .002 = .320 so for this case I don't have correct bushing - i understand that.
Am I missing something, still no luck on resizing the neck down to hold a bullet. I can feel the neck go into the bushing - I checked to see if the neck is actually inside the bushing while removing the adjustment plug the case is all the way in. I am still getting a .323-.324 neck that does not hold a bullet. How do you get a tighter neck when using a FL sizer die (with or without) a bushing. The expander inside the die does not make contact to expand or shrink the neck.
Just checked again and the non-fired non-fire formed necks are .009 -.0095 and the neck OD is .324 and the bullets fit. So I will fire form the rest of these cases and check the resizing and let all of you know what happens.
