Redding reloading press questions

Looking to buy a Redding single stage press strictly for FL sizing duties and bumping shoulders. I would not size anything over .308 size cases. I have a Rockchucker and Coax press for various other reloading duties and am happy with both of them. Redding makes the "Boss", "Big Boss", and "Big Boss II". Which one is the best way to go for no nonsense accurate FL sizing? I have never owned/operated a Redding and am looking for some advice. Reviews are good on all of them, and what I am seeing is that the Big Boss II has the spent primer collection system which I don't need as I deprime by hand. So that leaves me with the the Boss or the Big Boss. I have counted out the Ultramag press as it may be more press than what I need.

I have two (2) Boss presses, one dedicated for a 30 BR fl die, and one dedicated for a 6 PPC fl die. I bolted plates to the bases for mounting at the range. They are GTG for what you say your needs are. Only improvement would be to change to a ball handle which Redding offers as an accessory.

I use the Redding Big Boss II. Excellent press. I deprime via a dedicated Lee press for depriming, and do everything else with the Redding. With the press and Redding dies, I normally do not get more than 0.0015" runout on resizing and seating.

Thanks guys for the replies, looking at the Boss pretty hard now. Big Boss may be a bit too much for what I want to do.

Frank,

I have a 1972 Redding Hunter #24EZ C-Press that will meet your needs.

It is 20lbs and base to the top measures 7 inches, 15 inches overall. (up or down stroke)

A bit beefier than the current Boss presses and cheaper to boot.

Regards,

Scott
