Redding or Forster seating die

It's not a big thing but I get really ticked off every time I try to put my Redding Dies back in the box. For that kind of money you'd think they could give us a decent box. It would be nice if there was room enough to keep some extra bushings in there also so everything was all in one place. My die box lid stays cocked up at a 30* angle and I have to use a heavy rubber band. How cheesie is that for $200.00 worth of equipment. >:(

I spoke to Redding about the cheesy boxed some 15 years ago - I mean, who buys a $200 set of dies and then uses the die box as a loading block? Redding said they didn't want to spend the money on new molds. (Gag)

My gunsmith keeps telling me that I should try Forster, I'm going to take his advice. Redding doesn't have to please the customer, but we can go elsewhere. They aren't the only game in town.

I took my air grinder and ground down a couple of those ribs in the bottom of the die box so that the die fit and the lid snaps close. Took me just a couple of minutes. I also ground part of the end of the box for the completion seating die so the end could stick out a little when the micrometer was turned out a long way.

As I have said before, I have both Redding and Forester dies and I am happy with both. Although I also do not care for the Redding box it does not weigh in on my choice of which product to purchase.

I judge the dies more on their reloading performance and price and not so much on their box.
