Redding GR-X dies in 45 acp

jonbearman

I live in new york state, how unfortunate !
I went to their site and truthfully its not so good. Has anyone seen one of these dies in 45 acp? The Lee one is the most confusing mess as far as I am concerned. Their instructions are the worst in the industry.I like some of their stuff but they need to rewrite every manual they have in my opinion. Anyways just looking for a way to reduce the bulge from multiple firings. Please PM me .

I used one on my .40 S&W cases untill I got a set of carbide Lee dies. Had to re-run cases through sizer after using the GRX so the carbide set saves me that extra work and as an extra, no need for lube. My G23 causes really heavy bulging, one pass through GRX would not sort it out. Ymmv

The GR-X in 40 S&W works great. Passes right through and good as new. Sadly not available in 45 ACP due to a slight rim you would end up shearing off.

GR-X is only made in .40 (I assume that was what you were looking for.)

Set your current sizing die such that, with a fired case run into the die, you eliminate any gap between the bottom of the die and the shellholder/shellplate. If you're using a progressive press, you may want to check for the gap with all the stations populated (you want to eliminate the gap under real-world loading conditions.)

Find someone in your area with a roll-sizer or a case-pro. A very fast way to process brass unlike the GR-X which is painfully slow.

That said, I have never seen a GR-X in 45 ACP.
