Redding Die question,30BR project)

Planning on buying a Redding Type-S FL sizer Neck Bushing die in 7BR Rem part #77241, and then use the proper 30 Cal bushings to resize Lapua 6mmBR brass to 30BR.

Redding makes a tapered button #16307 to expand necks from 6mm to 30 cal.

My question - does the tapered size button screw onto the decaper that comes with the die, or do I need to buy a special decapper to put the tapered expander button on?

Can't decipher this from the Sinclair catalog, and never owned a Redding die, yet.....

Yes the expander button does screw on to the existing rod no problems just don`t bother to put the decapping pin in also be sure to open up the neck on the 7mm die to accommodate the sized 30 cal necks as they will be bigger than the throat need to take it out to about .335or maybe more just resize the neck with the resized button long and measure then open the neck up to that will give you clearance once you turn the necks. Use good lube when resizing
Then when you turn the necks get a feeler Gauge set your cutter a few thou bigger than wall thickness and turn and then set to wall thickness eg if chamber is .330 your neck wall thickness will be .010 so turn to .013 then final cut to .010 so your overall neck with projectile is .328.

That will work however I would give Harrel’s a call they made a couple for me worked out well .

skip all this and just fire form with NO BULLET and most of a case full of fast pistol powder like number2 or zip. (very small wad of tissue to hold in place) one and done..dose make a longer neck(more volume and less wasted brass
