I have a set of Redding Type-S FL Bushing dies in 7BR, that I modified for use with the 30BR.
The problem is that the hole in the stem of the die is too large to hold the small decapping pin that came with the die. The decapping pin seems to be correct for the small flash hole. The stem seems big enough that it looks to me like a large decapping pin would fit just right. No matter how hard I tighten the holder part, it falls right out.
I'm hand tightening it BTW, and haven't resorted to pliers yet, as I'm thinking that shouldn't be necessary, or Redding would have put wrench flats on the stem and the nut. This is also my first set of Redding Dies, so it may just be my ignorance.
Did Redding screw up and put the wrong stem in the die set?
Do I have to get the pliers out and crank the bajesus out of it to get the pin to hold in place?
I suppose I could just wrap some electrical tape around the decapping pin, but for the price of these puppies, and the precise alignment needed to hit the flash hole, I'm thinking that might not be such a great idea.
