Redding CSD neck tension

I am having trouble setting up my Redding Competition seating die. Some of my rounds have very little neck tension.

Case: Lapua 6mmBR
Bullet's Sierra 70gr Blitzking
OAL- varies between 2.170 and 2.270

Any suggestions?

Neck tension is set by the full length or neck sizing die. Are you using a standard or bushing die? Standard dies need the expander measured, should be .002" smaller than bullet diameter. Bushings, go smaller for more neck tension. After the tension is correct, try seating a bullet. The bottom of the seating die should not contact the shell holder/plate.

I talked to Redding today and they said the same thing. I have re-necked sized the cases with a Redding N/S die and that did the trick.

I have ordered the correct bushings...no mention on the box that they were needed. After 75,000 hand loaded rounds, this is the first time I have used a bushing type die.
