Redding Competition bullet seater in a hornady lock n load progressive?

Don't see why not. Once it's set you're GTG. Great seating dies, too.

The Hornady dies are standard 7/8x14 thread, the Lock-N-Load system bushings are 7/8x14 so the redding dies should work fine once adjusted up correctly.

I wasn't sure because my local cabelas's (reloading guy) said he uses the rcbs comp bullet seater and it uses a shell holder that is specific to only it. which would not be compatable with the shell plate on the lnl ap press. He said it propably wouldn't work but he didn't know for sure. I was planning on starting reloading with the re-15 powder 42 g, casings from federal match gold, and seirra 168 mking. This seems to be the most often reccomended combo short of buying high end brass. Which i'd like to get more time under my belt reloading and shooting before investing in. Do you know how this powder would flow or should i run something diff?

The RCBS die would not work as you were told. I have both the Redding & the RCBS seaters and the Lock-n-Load press but load rifle with my ancient Rockchucker.

Thats funny. Attention to everything i can handle. I had to choose the lnl ap because i shoot a 9mm m&p quite a bit as well that i plan on reloading too but don't want seperate setups. Thanks again everyone.
