Redding bushing die ?

Can this die be used to body size only if I remove the decapping assembly and bushing?

It will do fine as long it is a full length sizing die vs the neck size type.

Also ... you can remove the decapping pin, but the internal black ring and bushing are "both" needed to properly size. Black ring above the bushing ... obviously.

Yes it can. That's how alot of folks use them. You'll still need a way to get the necks sized to where you want them.

If you strip a Redding Type S that has the FL size die, you essentially have the body die. However…

Just keep in mind that some model versions of Redding bushing dies exist that are neck-only and do not touch the body. Those will not size the body or shoulder, which is why they are sold in sets that include the body die.

Then why buy a FL die?
Just get a Redding body die & type S neck bushing die, do it as 2 steps. I went to this because of a tight chamber. The body die gave me much more control. Then neck sizing as a separate step allowed me to better control the neck.
