Redding Body Die-Lee Collet Die

Am I understanding the information on here correctly?

With the Redding Body Die and Lee Collet Die/or neck sizing die, I want to fire the brass in my rifle once then bump the shoulder back 0.001-0.002" after each firing to prolong the brass life and size the brass minimally correct?

And has anyone seen a difference in the order to this process?(body die first vs neck sizing first)

I have the luxury of a turret press -- Collet Die first, turn over to body die and back to Collet Die for next one. Works great.

Howdy !

I don't FL size my brass at all.

I don't body-size my brass, unless when & if necessary. I shoulder bump / neck size my precision rifle brass.

I use the body die/collet die procedure. I do not bump the shoulder back with the body die until it is necessary. In a bolt gun that means when the bolt starts to close hard. In a break open gun you have to measure your headspace and I keep it at 0.001 to 0.002. The hotter your loads, the more often you have to bump the shoulder. Brass has "spring back" until you get close to max. pressure.
