Purchased these items a while back at auction thinking it would be a fun project. My kids are getting old enough to shoot. I struggle finding time to keep ammo loaded for hunting/range trips with them. I’ll never get around to using this stuff.
Redding 6mm Rem Imp 40 degree dies
Dies didn’t come with the original box. It is a 3 die set (neck die/FL die/seater), non-bushing, so that should make these dies Redding part# 84421. Dies are complete and they cleaned up well. Looks like expander buttons were polished. $60 shipped. That’s what I have in them.
6mm Rem RP headstamp brass
Going off the notes included with the brass:
48 pcs fire-formed only. Primer pockets uniformed but not trimmed or neck turned.
45 pieces that were loaded rounds I disassembled. Primer pockets are uniformed. Not sure if these are neck turned.
101pcs brass that were loaded rounds I disassembled. Primer pockets are uniformed. Necks are turned on these.
Ammo was loaded in 1994 based on the handloaders notes that came with it. I have no idea on the number of firings. I ran a pick along the inside of the cases and I don’t feel any signs of stretching. Looks to have been neck-sized only.
I have only pulled the bullets and dumped the powder. My plan was to disassemble and clean/anneal the brass and see what I got into after I bought/built a rifle. I have $140 in the brass. I’d like to get that out of it.
