Redding .223 small base body die problems

I have a Redding Small Base Die. It rips the lips off every cartridge, no matter which lube I use. The markings on it are " .223 SB Body Go" Any ideas. Never seen one with "Go" on it. Maybe it means Go into the trash.

I have the exact same marked die, part # 74111 and it has never given me one hint of trouble over the years. By “lips” are you referring to the rim?

I have used my RCBS small base die (marked "223 REM SB --12") with Lee case lube, Hornady One Shot, Dillon spray lube and Creedmoor wax. No problems with any of them.
Call RCBS.

I have same die, but box is marked 7411
SMALL BASE BODY DIE
223 Remington

Dies is marked same as Box

223 SB Body Go
The last thing in the die marking is the date code. The GO is their date of manufacture marking. I am willing to bet $100, that if you send the die to me, I will have no issues sizing brass with it. You have a lube problem not a die problem. But I will be the first to admit, I could be wrong. :)

Thanks for the input guys. Hornady in the can, hornady spray and imperial, same results. RCBS shell holder #10

This doesn't sound like a lube selection fix more so a poor die to chamber match.
Curious as to how much sizing is this die producing at the case shoulder junction also at the base ( if it is possible to get one through the die)

I had the same problem with 7.62x51mm it was the lube I was using I started using imperial sizing wax and no more problems

Yep, meant to say rims
I have done several thousand once fired 5.56 cases and most recently some new LC 18 for my 20 Practical and have never loss a case rim in this die. I have always used imperial die sizing wax and also occasionally swab the inside of the die with Militec-1.
I‘ve done a fair amount of wildcatting and the only time I have pulled cases out a shell holder had been when I failed lube the case, used that spray can stuff or used not enough. The sizing/forming dictated that every case needed lube, but in haste to take short cuts on a hundred or more cases, I only lubed every 3rd or 4th case......trouble, trouble.

What’s your technique in detail?

Same as most folks I suspect. Cartridges have been once fired by me, lubed (type of lube doesn't seem to matter) and inserted onto the ram and up it goes. Just wont come back out. Lucky for me the Body die neck is large enough to insert a lee de-primer into the top and slam it back out. I have another body die in 30 BR that works just fine. This one in .223 not so much.

I had a bad .260AI die from them. High effort on the way in, rough finish transferred to case. Sent it back to them. They either fixed it or replaced it, no further problems.

Cleaned the die with mineral spirits, acetone, or carb cleaner.....AND a stiff nylon brush?

If there is a chemical buildup, this is the result as well.

Many new dies have a dry film protection on them and they tell you to clean the die with a bore solvent like Hoppe's #9.

This dry film protection if not totally removed will cause the case to stick in the die no matter the type lube used.

If this is not the problem my second guess is the die was not polished properly. And a picture is worth a thousand words for a good finish.
