red dot + magnifier zero?

If I zero the dot do I still have to zero the magnifier?

It has adjustments but I've assumed they were just to keep it from being noticeably off center.

Shouldn't I be able to remove, replace or reposition(front to rear) the magnifier at will without worrying about zero?

To my understanding you don't have to zero the magnifier. It should only magnify the image and the dot. It shouldn't change the zero
